Today’s calorie total = 3301

MyFitnessPal has my calorie cap set at approx. 2990, so I went a bit over that, but I still came in -500 calories from my previously measured daily average, so I’m taking it as a win.

I have been dealing with sinus headaches that go away with drinking something sugary so my I’m guessing my blood sugar is crashing some, which I suppose is to be expected considering what and how often/much I had been eating the past 6 months.

I’m going to try nomming on more fruit in the morning to see if I can help keep the blood sugar up a bit and prevent the cravings for pure sugar.

The flash on the camera made the pic all blinging white, but I’m too lazy to retake it.
-4.8 lbs
Likely 99% water weight due to the reduction in salt and overall carbs being consumed recently.

Ugh, first day of school.

I love how I had been planning on getting all this shit taken care of before this day arrived and now here I am, rushing around trying to get everything I put off done in a few hours.

Had a meatloaf sandwich for breakfast - approx. 500 cal

Need to get some wheat bread to save a few cals and carbs on sammichez.

Day 6 Calorie Count

Total = 3860

I’m supposed to track my calories for 7 days before taking the average and subtracting 500 calories to get my calorie cap, but I’m to impatient. Let’s see what my average intake has been for the past 6 days:

22,992 / 6 = 3832

3832 - 500 = 3332

3332 = 90 day calorie cap

This is definitely doable seeing as I already came in under this number for 2 of the 6 days. I would of came in under it today to if I hadn’t decided to have that bowl of chips. Would have been really easy to meet that number if I didn’t have mcD’s for lunch.

Ah well, class starts up tomorrow and let’s see if I can stay committed to this calorie cap while dealing with the stress of school with the added fun of having to drive by a wendy’s everyday on my way home. -_-

Anonymous asked: Have you ever thought about taking something to help you with your weight loss and to maybe help curb hunger and cravings?

I’ve thought about it and have tried some over the counter appetite suppressants in the past. I would find the side-effects a bigger pain to deal with than the benefit provided; sweating and sleep disturbance comes to mind.

Also, I believe dealing with our perceived hunger and cravings is a matter of perspective and expectations. Now I know that in the labs scientist have shown that when they diminish the appetites of mice they will lose weight. I also know that effective appetite suppression has been the most successful form of weight loss treatment, subjectively speaking.

But when I speak about perspective and expectations, how many people can you think of who want to lose weight are willing to lose it slowly? I know from my personal experience that I have used the very reason that it takes a long time to not bother with exercise and my eating habits. If that weren’t enough, people also place unrealistic time constraints on themselves. “I want to lose 20lbs in a month” or even “I want to lose 100 lbs in 6 months” are both problems of perspective and expectation.

To wrap up, weight loss is an intensely personal process and the ways you choose to achieve it are entirely your own. The terms of this weight loss under which you set yourself are also your’s to choose. For me, addressing these terms seems like the best option and the one I will stick with for now.

Day 5 Calorie Count Cont…

In addition to removing sugar sodas, I need to start consuming primarily foods with lower calorie densities. I know I have a predilection to over-eating, so quelling that urge by snacking on more veggies and maybe making a salad mandatory with meals at home would be a good way to fill up with out piling on the calories.

Day 5 Calorie Count

Today’s total = 3180

Pretty good day. The food choices weren’t the best, but far from the worst. I also had good discipline in portion control until dinner. The foods I ate for dinner were solid choices being far less calorie dense than the snack foods we had during the football game.

More thoughts on today’s foods later…
